So on Tuesday my wife and I purchase an RV travel trailer from Longview RV sales in Windsor Locks, CT with the promise to pick it up on Saturday the 5th. Get a call on friday that our trailer has been stolen from their lot.
After getting no info for 2 days about our deposit or about a new trailer I finally have to call and speak with their general manager Todd. He explains there is no inventory to be had and there is nothing he can do. I explain this was a 23rd year aniversary gift for my wife, that we had non refundable camp site booked for next weekend.
He says "I have no sympathy for you, we lost a trailer and a motorhome and our mechanics tools. " I said wait a minute, I actually do feel for you, but maybe you shoulda invested in some better security to which he tells me to fo F myself and take my business elsewhere.
Think about doing business elsewhere, can only imagine if I had my trailer in for service and it was stolen, they would stick you with the loss.

Repaired theatre seat
We purchased a new RV almost 2 years ago. We went through several issues which were corrected by the company however they have dropped the ball on a problem that we have had since the beginning with our loveseat which had a repair done prior to our purchase.
Even the manufacturer (Forest River) has dropped the ball. It is still unresolved, I’ve contacted them several times to no avail and it looks so ugly for a vehicle that now only has 6000 miles on it. There is only one good person in the service department that has bent over backwards to accommodate us, Joe Nero. Although he’s not the one to take care of this he has passed this on I have physically been in the shop and still they dropped the ball hoping that we would forget about it.
I sent both Longview and Forest River multiple photographs. There haves been constant reasons why are still looking into it. “We need a picture of this, we need better photographs. “.
Don’t you think this iPhone photograph shows enough? Are used my expensive DSLR but that wasn’t good enough delay, delay delay.

Lousy service department.
We purchased a Forest River "I-Pod" from Longview a couple of years ago.
The sales man and sales staff were truly a pleasure to work with, but THAT'S where the love ends. We bought a $400 package from the service department salesperson that included a couple of chairs, toilet paper, wheel chocks, black water hose, blah, blah, blah.
We explained we didn't need ANY more "damn" chairs, and they explained they could swap something of equal value. We agreed to a bathroom vent roof cover, and they'd put it on.
PERFECT.....then bill came to $600 !
HOLD ON PARDNER !
"WELL...that includes the installation"
Not on my watch.
We argued for about 20 minutes, and I suggested we'd just cancel our purchase of the whole damn camper, and we'd be on our way. A service mgr finally came out, we explained everything, and he agreed to the initial price of $400. Several little interior items needed repair, that were never corr also.
About 2 months later, the converter burned up, I called on Saturday morning, and they said to bring it right in, they'd get to work on it.
I explained I'd need it by the following weekend,as we had reservations at a campsite. "NO PROBLEM".
I immediately brought it right up and parked it in the lot.
Tuesday I called on it. They said i needed to get a work order first. I explained AGAIN, they said theyd get right in it.
WEDNESDAY, I called again, "We have to order the converter circuit board".
"YOU DON'T HAVE ONE ON THE DAMN LOT YOU CAN TAKE, I NEED THE CAMPER".
I ended up paying for overnight shipping for the board.
After paying the bill, I noticed the battery, cover and strap were missing.
ANOTHER arguing match ensued after they said that they wouldnt charge me for the cover strap.
WTH...SERIOUSLY ?
I've brought it back for a leak from the bump-out sink, WHICH I DO admit the young lad repaired in record time,
BUT needless to say, (politely), I'd NEVER, EVER, bring a unit back to THAT service department if it were the last place on this God's green earth. I've had further repairs and the winterizing done by a nearby campground in East Hampton, Ct.
The service department does not follow through
The service department does not follow through and does not return phone calls I waited until the fall so as not to interfere with their busy summer business and I was a assured that they wanted my business and would take care of me. I’ve left three messages for the last three weeks and Joe Mac from the service depot has not called me back yet.
Very frustrating. I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Longview will NEVER see me or anyone I know EVER!!!
No one should EVER visit this place. I have read other reviews on other sites that they screw people over. I read on BBB one complaint and the GM who wrote back to the complaint was very rude on the rebuttal.
Oh boy where do I start. My wife and I got to Longview on Saturday afternoon.
We had been there a year or two ago. Last time we went, the gates were all open and you were able to walk around and tour the campers without a shadow (sales person) following you. But on Saturday they had all the gates closed so you had to go into the showroom to get into the lot. So we went into the showroom with our baby girl and instantly got bombarded by a sales person.
Instead of just asking what we were looking for, he asked us to go into an office. Once in the office he started asked our names, what kind of camper we were looking for, what kind of car we drove so they could know the pulling capacity and I assume they would have asked more questions, but I stopped him and told him that we were just looking and were not ready to make those kind of commitments. Before we walked into the dealership, the first thing I told my wife is that I didn't want to get attacked by a sales person. I was hoping for just a fun day of looking at campers and dreaming of the day when we could buy one.
So when the sales person bombarded us, I got irritated and told him that he should tell his bosses that the practice of attacking people the second they walk through the door is not the best business practice. So the sales person said he would share that with the boss and we walked out onto the lot to look at some campers. My wife has a permanent injury to her ankle and cannot walk the best, but she wanted to see the campers, so she slowly climbed the hill to the campers. The travel trailers were all the way to the other end of the lot, so she slowly but surely walked to the area of the travel trailers.
We got to the travel trailers and looked in about 3 trailers when a sales person in a golf cart pulled up. He asked if anyone was helping us. We told him no, and that we didn't really need help because we were not ready to buy. He in turn told us that if we didn't have a sales person helping us, we could not look at the campers.
My wife asked him "so in other words, if we don't have a sales person trailing us in and out of these campers, we can't look at them?" He said "We can't trust you to look through them, because we don't know if you will break something or not." So my wife promptly told him that we were out of there and that when we did have the money, we would NEVER be back there again. My wife gingerly walked back to the car. On the way back to the car, we had to walk through the showroom again. As we walked through I stuck my head into the sales manager/GM's office and said "Great business you have here.
I would never spend a dime here!" out of frustration. The sales manager or GM then responded "Thanks for trying!" Is that the way they treat their customers? My wife and I ARE going to buy a camper, we are just saving up and Longview just lost a guaranteed customer. I am planning on telling EVERYONE we know not to go there and I can reach A LOT of people on social media.
My wife and I visited 4 other RV dealers this weekend and ALL of them allowed us to go look at their campers without a sales person harassing us. We are going to pass on our bad experience to EVERYONE we can. We are going to make sure that NO ONE within shouting distance gives a penny to this horrible business. I would love to put Longview out of business because there are so many other companies that do things CORRECTLY.
I hate seeing horrible companies be successful while good companies struggle and that is why I am sharing this review. My advice? Don't ever step foot on the the Longview lot.
Go to Pete's RV about 5-10 minutes away. They might not have the selection, but they were BY FAR more professional and courteous.

Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Behavior
As many people our search for an RV was a family adventure. We did our research online, read reviews, considered prices and visited the Hershey RV Show in September 2017.
We finally made a decision on the unit we wanted. A Forest River Wildwood 31KQBTS. The closest Forest River RV dealer to our home is the Longview RV Superstore. We live on Long Island, NY and it is a 2 hour 30+ minute drive.
So in September we packed up the kids in the car and drove there. We met with our salesman Rem and went over a unit. We decided not to make a purchase until the spring of 2018 so we would be able to use it right away and not just have it sitting in our driveway all winter. So yesterday, after making an appointment with Rem a week ago for yesterday, we all packed into the car to go and purchase our new Travel Trailer.
We arrive at the lot at 12:10 pm more than enough time to look at the unit and go through financing etc.... We went out with Rem to look at the only unit of our camper they had on site. We also looked at other units to make sure we chose the right one which we did. We head back to the office with Rem to start the paperwork.
When we had spoken on the phone to set the appointment, I had informed him very clearly that we wanted to do no haggling. We wanted them to come with their best price and we had been quoted prices already but wanted to go with them as they are the most "local". He completely understood and said they would probably not be able to match the price but they would come close. That was fine, it was peace of mind to buy something that we could see and touch instead of online and have it shipped to us.
Rem takes all of our information and then goes to speak to the General Manager to get pricing. We waited all of 5 minutes when Rem comes back and says that they can't meet the price we were given and that their prices is in the mid 20's. He was holding paper in his hand and I looked over and it was 3 sheets of paper printed from RVT website with various listing of our camper from other RV dealers. On the bottom of the 1st page in Green marker were the exact words "GET REAL COME ON!!".
When I saw that I asked Rem, was that directed at us? He just nodded. I said that is the most unprofessional behavior I have ever seen, that we drove all the way from NY. I informed Rem we are taking our business elsewhere and took my children and walked out the door.
My husband stayed and went to speak tot he General Manager Todd Emerson. He asked the General Manager his name and he said Todd, my husband asked if he had a business card and he said NO. He then told my husband to enjoy his long drive back to NY. Thanksfully my husband just left.
I found the email price I had been quoted and went back inside and showed it to Rem to show I was not making it up and his reply was, I am sorry to have made you make the trip, I am in the middle. I understood, thanked him for his assistance and left. The rest of the staff seemed to be nervous about the GM's behavior although obviously no one would say anything about it.
I am hopeful that the owner of this dealer becomes aware of the treatment of its customers. The behavior of the GM Todd was completely uncalled for.
We were being very straightforward with the pricing we have received. If their best price was $25K, we could have very easily worked with that, they never even gave us a chance.
They lost a sale by their own arrogance.
On a side note, on our ride home, we called 3 other RV dealers and were able to get 3 written quotes for the $22-$23k we were looking to spend. In addition, the 3 units quotes had all of the available options which the unit at Longview did not so Longview's GM Todd lost himself a sale as well as did us a favor because 1 hour after we left we ordered a unit that we wanted and will have it shipped to us in 10 days.
Travel trailer purchase
My husband I were shopping for a new travel trailer, this was to be our 10th rv in our 43 years of marriage. We had been to several dealers, and came here due their advertisements and info from other RV ers and friends.
Rem a very knowledgable and friendly salesman, helped us to find just what we were looking for. He allowed us private time in the campers we looked at and knew the answers to all our questions. Within 2 hours we were putting a deposit down and making plans for the pick up. Also met service staff Mary, ?Will, and many others who were all friendly and helpful.
We look forward to many happy camping trips as we enter into retirement. Thank you all for a great experience at Long View RV
Great cusatomer service!!
I bought my first RV a travel trailer from Longview RV and it was a great experience. From the start the salesman, Mark S.
approach was warm welcoming and no pressure. Mark answered all of my questions and then some. He also helped to educate me on a variety of travel trailers and which one may best suit me and my families needs. The service and parts departments were very helpful with educating me on every thing I would need to have safe and successful start to my camping experience.
Many thanks to Mark S.
from sales, and Monti in service and all the rest at Longview RW.

Longview rv terrible experence
pushy salesman ignorant to what I wanted. Terrible knowledge on units they're selling.
Finance department will throw in costly items they never mentioned. Don't put any money down and change your mind because they won't give you back the deposit.
Excellent experience
This was my first rv and I found the staff wonderful and service very patient with me. I read reviews from a lot of different dealerships and I found that the ones that were bad only seem to be the ones who didn't follow thru with their purchase unlike camping world. Carl

Financing process was really simple and stress free. Service was very helpful with the orientation
Dog and Pony Show
We recently purchased a used rv from them. It had just come in and they still needed to go through it.
Told us it would be a week or two. After financing and insuring it, it took a month before we were able to finally pick it up. It was frustrating to pay a month for something we did not even have yet. We were told of one repair that needed to be done.
We were also told service was backed up and that’s why it was taking longer than usual. We were assured that the unit would be spotless at pick up. At the time of pick up, the saleswoman commented that the delay was due to a back ordered part. Funny that wasn’t the story we initially heard.
Now it’s time to go into the unit. It was far from spotless, but after the extra wait we just wanted to get it out of there. The carpets were dirty, the tanks were not emptied, there was a smell in the unit, and pubic hairs in the shower. Not at all what I would consider clean.
Next came the training.
We would have been better off jumping in it, coming home and pulling up some videos on how to use it. So overall, we were not pleased with the experience, but there were some very friendly and knowledgeable service techs we were chatting with while waiting around.
